Hi! I just wanna pay my tribute to Shawn Lane.As a musician myself working with music, listening to music many hours per week i sometimes get tired of it,there is no music that catches my ear.But since i`ve been listening to shawns music the past year or so i must say it really has increased my interest for music again.Sometimes when i drive to my work tired as hell i play shawns songs and then i forget how tired i am.I think i`ve been playing the same ten songs hundred times in a row i never get tired of them. So, a big thank you from sweden to shawn and his music,i`m gonna buy all cd:s that are available in sweden(expensive import worth every krona)./Frank Albertsson

It's been a while since I left a message here. To the family ; You are always in my thoughts. "Both light and shadow are the dance of Love. Love has no cause; it is the astrolabe of God’s secrets. Lover and Loving are inseparable and timeless. Although I may try to write about Love I am rendered helpless; my pen breaks and the paper slips away at the ineffable place where Lover, Loving and Loved are one. Every moment is made glorious by the light of Love. " Rumi

Amo as músicas do Shawn! Ele foi um privilegiado em ter o dom da música, a música também foi privilegiada de ter Shawn! Que você possa estar nas mãos do Criador! (In English) I love Shawn's music! It was a privilege to have Shawn's music, and music was also privileged to have Shawn! Now he is in the hands of the creator!

Late Happy Birthday Shawn! I am new to ur music as I'm 20. I was looking for a music that can talk"Gray piano's flying" and cry "Epilogue for lisa" at the same time and you gave me that. I'll remember you more as a musician who gave many meaning to the music world unlike some commercial musician who never gives back but just takes. I'm proud that I heard you like many others of this world. As it's a great shame for Bach, Listz, Chopin and all other composers who died without even knowing your music. So praise to you big brother as We're all getting closer to you everyday. 🙂

To My Baby Brother (Shawn) You made me listen I will think of you when I hear the music of the sunset, or the stillness of sunrise. When I hear the birds sing or watch them fly across the skys. I will think of you when the wind moans or gently whispers. When the rain makes drumbeats on my roof or gently plays a concerto on my window. You brought light and music to my world. You made me listen to sounds unheard. You made me laugh and cry and dance and sing! I will forever hear your music and your laughter! Happy Birthday Baby! I love you!

A new video clip of Shawn Lane performing has been found! This incredible piece was discovered while I was digitizing some ancient videotapes of Target (the legendary Memphis band) for Jimi Jamison. You can imagine how my heart leaped into my throat as I heard Target call Shawn onto the stage near the end of the video... Then he proceeded to play All Along The Watchtower!!! Videotaped in 1989 at club NightMoves in Memphis, TN during Target's 10 year reunion concert, it's an end of show jam featuring Shawn and Rob Caudle (vocals / bass) as special guests. This is a slice of Shawn at his crowd pleasing best... He takes an old classic rock standard and makes it naw and all his own. Hendrix HAS to be smiling down over this version! This clip is available for viewing (free of course) on my website. Just look for the video link right there at the top of the stevecox.com main page. As a public service in honor of my dear friend Shawn and his immortal talent, I will continue to host this video for free as long as I have a website on the Internet... And I've been around 10 years, so far. 😀

Shawn and I are about 6 months apart in age. I first heard him when we were both 17. To this day I'm deeply moved by his music and musicianship. Truly one of the most influential musicians of my life. Thank you Shawn. God bless you and your family. I look forward to playing with you one day.

He has passed away but his music lives forver! What a inspiration he was for me...I saw him at a clinic way back in Germany in front of only 10 people he was wailing and made me go home and try to learn as much as I can about music (and not only technique) up until today. I never thanked him for this....
