Hello, I would like say that Shawn blew me away the first time I saw him. I discovered him just a few years ago. I've been studying his lesson videos and books. My playing has greatly improved. It's amazing how one person can make you appreciate an art more than you ever have before. The world was gifted when Shawn Lane was born. Please keep passing his legend on.

Have seen Shawn when he came to Kolkata, India. His outlook towards life in the form of music has helped me to open up all the closed doors of my mind. Respect you Shawn for the man you were or rather you still are.

Shawn has been my biggest influence since the day I first heard him. His music touched my soul. His music will live on through the years like Bach, Hendrix, and Zappa.

I was only 6 when you passed away. I absolutely love your music and you are a great inspiration. Your music is so unique and I wish to become like you. You are my sole idol. Your music helped relieve my emotions when my best friend past away. I have learnt so much from you and when I next go to America I will visit your grave. I hope to meet you one day somehow once we all leave this earth and until then, farewell.

I met Shawn in the 70's when his sisters Mitsy and Lisa were coming over to my house I remember Shawn playing a Les Paul that was bigger then him he was a true musical prodigy. He was living at his grandmothers and practicing. It is such a loss I lost track of him i wished his health was given as much attention as his fame was I think Shawn knew he was in need of rest with the sabbatical he took and all the tours he turned down Now he is in one of a kind band Bless you Shawn

I met Shawn in 1979 while he was playing with BOA. Everyone new he was a great talent. Later, I was fortunate to meet Shawn again in Memphis and watched several of the Willy's shows. But beyond his musical talents, Shawn was a good person. I remember seeing him at a guitar workshop in Eureka Springs Arkansas. He was so kind and gentle to young kids that were in awe of his skills. Taking the time to answer every question and share his love for music. His spirit lives....

Ever since the day I was introduced to Shawns playing, while attending Music Tech in 1991, my thoughts and perception of music, composition, technique and the "boundries that lie within them", have forever been changed, and thats not to mention how greatly I was impacted; by his personae as a human, the more I learned about his being and how passionate he was. He is thought of daily, dearly missed and remains the biggest influence on my life in general.
