I'm not sure how many true geniuses have walked the earth, but I am sure that Shawn Lane was one of them. Technically; he had no equal, but more than that, his music penetrated the deepest corners of your soul. No other musician could simultaneously melt your face and sooth your soul at the same time. Often imititated, but never duplicated, there will NEVER be another Shawn Lane. Keep on Ricin with those Angels forever Shawn.

It's so sad that Shawn had to go. What a talented man. I recently saw a video on YouTube where Shawn was playing "Get You Back" at New Daisy Theater in 1993. I saw and heard this for the first time. With his playing he made me smile and cry at the same time. All I can say is thank you Shawn for your music and playing. Maybe he's jamming with Jimi right now 🙂 My best wishes to the Lane family.

Shawn Lane will always be my favorite guitarist and musician. I just finished school at Musicians Institute. I wish I could have been going to school there when he used to come and do clinics. Some of my teachers still would speak of the days when Shawn would walk in and blow the doors off the place with his insane speed. What an amzing person. I am also from Tennessee and I am going back to see his grave in a couple of months. My deepest prayers are with his family. God Bless Shawn Lane.

I think of Shawn and remember a little kid comming into the store with so much talent and I miss talking to him about music and all the other things that interested him. He was always so polite and well spoken. What a great guy. 😎

Shawn Lane was such a great musician, I enjoy his music immensely. If his music isn't playing on my itunes it's only because I'm practicing. Wishing the family the best, we all miss him greatly!

For about a month now I've been on a diet of only listening to Shawn's recordings during my 40 minute commute to work. The more recordings I hear, the more I'm amazed with Shawn's improvisational ability each gig. It just flowed, and it flowed differently each night. I've played guitar for 35 years and have always hesitated to name a 'best' or 'favorite' guitarist, but no longer.

Just wanted to say that even after so many years later, I am very sorry for the loss of Shawn, I love his style of playing, and could tell he put everything into it, heart and soul! I am a guitar player & drummer myself, and my opinion, Shawn Lane is the very best guitar player I have ever watched or heard in this world..No one still out plays him! God Bless
