Poor Shawn, still surely he's playing solos up there in heaven. Sad to hear how every single rock star, master, and exceptional player dies. In memory of Shawn. OZi

I like many... have been inspired by your existance and your music. I was first intoduced to your playing 18 years ago when a friend of mine had contacted you by phone and you were kind enough to send us video footage of you playing at local clubs in your home town. The things I have learned from these videos and your later works will continue to inspire me as well as my students for years to come. God Bless

🙂 I saw Shawn together with Jonas Hellborg in the middle of the 90`s at a concert in Mainz/ Germany. I still remember I was sitting there with my friends and we didn`t quite understand what`s going on on stage, it was music from another planet, just great ! Shawn rest in peace !

🙂 I met Shawn when he and I were both on the same tour with Black Oak Arkansas. I have remembered him always though we never saw each other after the tour. He was a wonderful person and very talented..very respectful and nice to a lady as young as he was at the same time...and being in an adult forum. I am sorry for our loss. He and I both suffer with psoriasis and I understand what he has and did go through..I still battle it daily and pray daily that it does not pass to my daughters nor grandchildren. I wish the best for you. And know that his presence is still strong to this day with those whose lives he only touched for moments. I did not know that he was suffering with this..though we mostly keep it to ourselves...I wish I had known before..lots of love and prayer for you family always.

Quite simply the best guitarist in the history of this planet. God Bless you my friend - you are with the angels making glorious music with the King of Kings. Thank you for the gifts you have given (and continually give) this world. In Christ.

I barely knew Shawn in tha late 80's, which is to say I came to enough gigs to meet him and have him eventually recognize me. We all know about the incredible beauty of his music, but I hope everyone also knows his was a beautiful soul. I saw him routinely treat strangers as friends before walking on stage to prove he was not even of this earth! What a blessing to have walked the planet during his lifetime. Thank you so much for keeping this site running, truly.

Well this is great that I found this page. I was just turned on to Shawn about 3 months ago and I have been nothing but amazed by his talents. His passing was a sheer tragedy. Another amazing guitarist stricken with a fatal illness, reminds me of course of Jason Becker and the amazing metal master Chuck Schuldiner(RIP). I thank the mother and nephew for keeping his legacy alive...

I wrote Shawn back in 2000, I don´t know if he ever received my letter, I wrote him about how cosmic his music and approach seemed to me, I imagined this was little before he started the band with Jonas Hellborg... I hope he get it, I just want to share how much I love his music and how much I miss his soul in this world... Cheers to everybody
