I'm 52 years old and just heard Shawns music on youtube.com. Obviously a master of instrumental fortitude and innovation. Been interested in all guitar playing my whole life, but understand now that music is any pleasing sound created with passion and contemplation. Shawn Lane proves the point, universally. But mostly he was a smokin hot picker with killer chops.

Shawn Lane's music had a tremendous impact on me. The incredible musicality that Shawn exhibited was powerfully unique. His combination of technical mastery and melodic sensibility connected with listeners on a very emotional and spiritual level. The gift that he gave us all is truly priceless. God bless Shawn Lane.

Dear Lane family, After watching many clips of Shawn Lane, I believe that he is the greatest guitar player that has ever lived. When I first came to this site I was almost in tears because I realized what a great man this was. I recently purchased the Powers of Ten album and it is great! I am a guitar player myself and he is by far my greatest influence.

Shawn, Your music is amazing. I remember when I got a copy of Powers Of Ten. I had to bid on ebay against other music lovers for a copy. But I just had to have it reading all the great things I had about your mucisianship I had to hear for myself. What an absolute joy then to hear that when I played the CD you were even better than I had expected ! Your music is timeless and your ability was without question one of the best there ever will be on the guitar. I am sad at your leaving us all to soon. But I know that the gift you had must have come from God and I know that you are with him now. May you rock forever in heaven Shawn. I never knew you but your spirit shines bright through your music, and your music will never die. god bless you and keep you and may your friends and family know that you are rembered still.

People come, people go. But Shawn Lane will always be remembered for the music he gave us. And specially for us in a far-away land, we feel honoured to have shared a small part of his life during his tour to North-East India... Aizawl, especially.

I was at the Memphis in May music festival last year (2006) and met a very nice man there. He told me about Shawn Lane and gave me the web site address. He is correct when he said his music is great.
